It’s NOT a 5k?
This was the question flying around the office after ten LRS Web Solutions employees had signed up for the Prevention First Red Ribbon race. Prevention First is a great client, so naturally we wanted to help support the cause. An email notice went out to our group and many of us quickly signed up without hesitation or question. In a short time, realization set in that this was a 5 MILE race not a 5K!
Of varying ages and athletic capabilities, we each had our own ideas of what to expect on that race day. Some of us were already in race condition. Some attempted to train (attempted being key here.) Others were ready to do what it takes to cross that finish line – be it walk, jog, or carry our friends -we would do this as a team! And that we did! We all made it across the finish line with a greater feeling of team support and personal pride.
Congrats to all our LRS Web Solutions runners. A special hurrah to Leah Hardy who ran in blazing fast time of 39:06, came in twelfth in female category! Bill Goldsberry, another natural athlete, finished in 44:32. Coming in soon after was Jamie Baird (51:50), Eddie Ebeling (54:28), Darren Glore (55:41), Sharon Hewitt (57:23) and Tracy Dyer (1:00:29). Bobbi Champley, and daughter Peyton, along with Lanae Smithers came in side-by-side (1:14:40). Pulling it in to complete our team was Brianna Hale (1:32:08).
We’re proud of our LRS Web Solutions runners for supporting Red Ribbon week in the First Annual Prevention First 5 mile Race!
