A custom, dynamic product interface was developed for Mueller Co. of Chattanooga, TN recently to provide its potable water distribution products online to website visitors. The new web application replaced an outdated catalog in a more user-friendly format allowing for product search by keyword or part number. Additionally, the new online catalog is easier for Mueller to maintain and keep up to date with administrative functionality built in to easily add, update or remove products or product categories as needed. Check out Mueller’s online product catalog at http://catalog.muellercompany.com.

Just for Fun Friday: Cleverbot and Bacon Ipsum
Here are some cool things we’re playing around with this week. Take a look just for fun, and feel free to share some of your favorite online tools or destinations with us too!
Dan is fond of Cleverbot for the entertainment value. Cleverbot is a web application created back in 1988 that tries to mimic actual human conversation. It takes input from a user and selects previously entered phrases from its database of conversations to respond. Supposedly it’s like “talking with the collective community of the Internet.” Check it out and see what you think, but don’t expect any “deep” conversations.
Carnivorous staffer Eddie has a new favorite indulgence in Bacon Ipsum for meatier mockup filler text. If you’re a designer with a hankering for cuts of meat, Bacon Ipsum should satisfy your appetite. Not to discriminate against vegetarians though, there is also Veggie Ipsum on the menu.
Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

Custom Web Applications: Webinar Library
A custom web application was recently developed and implemented for Springfield-based Prevention First, Illinois’ only nonprofit resource center specializing in the prevention of teen alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. A “Study Hall” webinar library was created as a continuing education tool for registered users to view courses, take tests and receive certificates based on performance, including a custom flash player to display course presentations. To allow Prevention First staff the capability to easily add, edit and delete course information and tests in-house, an administration area was also constructed.
This web solution successfully organizes and manages multimedia content for registered members within an organization. Do you have content that might lend itself to a similar web application?
